Crazy fall from grace with Tokio Hotel
What's just wrong with Tokio Hotel? Only XPress knows, how bad the situation about Tokio Hotel really is.
Stop, full stop, finish! With the german band Tokio Hotel it goes down the tubes. And the worst: Nobody is interested in it. What began so sensationally with the album "Schrei" in 2005, seems to become a real nightmare for the band. We gathered the worst facts and prognosticate the early end of Tokio Hotel.
FLOP. The most cash musicians get is from the sales of concert tickets. And exactly there begins the big fall of grace: The venues of their world tour this year stayed empty, which ruined the promoters. "We'll never book Tokio Hotel again!", an angry promoter said. Understandable, because at their tour in 2007 there were more than 11.000 fans, this year not even 4.000 fans came. But also the album sales were below expectations. Neither their latest album "Humanoid", nor the first single "Automatisch" were in the Top 10 of the Charts [in Austria!].
Even in America, where Tokio Hotel were extremely popular recently, the album is underpriced. After the embarrassing sales of the first single, all the other singles have been sold only on iTunes. The band itself doesn't want to know anything about that. Frontman Bill Kaulitz in the interview: "Our management said that we're more successful than ever and that we shouldn't worry." A lie! But why don't they inform the band about the dramatic situation, and how did it happen? The management remains silent.
(Text at the album cover) Uninteresting. The second single "Lass uns laufen" has only been sold through the internet. The production of a single got economized because of cost concerns.
(Text at the 'Humanoid City' picture) Loyal. Only the French fans remained faithful to their favourite band. But that's not enough for Tokio Hotel. They want to try it in Israel and entire Asia this year.
